A celebrated career
Generous mentorship
Amanda has been called one of the greatest cabaret performers of her generation. Her performances have taken her from the Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall, from London to Melbourne, and to countless concert venues around the globe.
She has taught master classes in high schools, universities, and workshops for professional cabaret artists across the country.
Emphasis is placed on learning to connect the mind, voice, and heart in the telling of each musical story-and how to transmit that feeling to an audience. Students learn how to choose and analyze a song, communicate with a musical director, construct a cabaret performance, script their own patter, and have fun in the process.
Amanda loves to share the tricks, the traps, and the truths she has learned over three decades in this wonderful world of cabaret.

Student voices
What students say about a master class with Amanda
“Amanda McBroom’s master class changed my life. She helped me find my voice to become a successful singer/songwriter. Cabaret is truth and love on pitch. The good cabaret teachers show you how they do it. The great cabaret teachers teach you how to discover and communicate your truth. Amanda lives in the latter category. Long after that master class at Yale, Amanda generously helped me brainstorm my artistic visions. Under her wing is the perfect place to be.”
“I absolutely loved the coaching and insight I received from Amanda - her musical sense is outstanding, her teaching methods are sound and effective, and her personal warmth makes it a pure delight! This is the kind of learning I know will reappear again and again in my rehearsing and performing. Thank You Amanda - you have truly changed my life!”
“Watching Amanda McBroom teach is a continual learning experience for me as another Master Teacher. She is insightful, honest and generous all at the same time.”
“Anything a consummate performer like Amanda McBroom can pass down to other singers is priceless. There are many wonderful performers who can do what they do on stage but having the language, the ability and the spirit to teach it is not often part of that package. It is in abundance with Amanda.”
Each class is a hands-on experience with this master teacher. Students are guaranteed to learn, laugh, and leave with a clearer understanding of the craft of singing to carry them forward to whatever level they wish to achieve.
The classes always include a Q&A session and are open to the general public.
Cost varies by location and class length. Admission to some classes for participating students is only by audition (via on-line video, like YouTube, or a video performance on DVD). Others are open to all.
